In his 13th movie, the rapper would play the son of a murdered New York City police officer.

AceShowbiz - Rapper 50 Cent is to play a rogue cop in tough new drama "Freelancers". The "In Da Club" star, real name Curtis Jackson, will play the son of a slain NYPD officer, who takes his dad's place in a vice crime task force and finds himself "on a team of rogue Gotham cops."

Filming is scheduled to begin at the end of March in Michigan, according to Variety. The film will be helmed by "Soul Plane" director Jessy Terrero, who has previously worked with the rapper in the movie "Gun" and his video projects, "The Massacre: Special Edition" and "50 Cent: The New Breed."

The movie will be 50's 13th. It is part of a 10-picture deal with Lions Gate under his Cheetah Vision imprint.
