Chesney has produced and narrated a new football documentary movie 'The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story' as a tribute to his childhood hero, Condredge Holloway.

AceShowbiz - Country star Kenny Chesney has paid tribute to his childhood hero by producing and narrating a new sports documentary about American football icon Condredge Holloway.

The singer reveals he worshiped the sportsman growing up after Holloway became the first black quarterback at a Southeast Conference School when he joined the University of Tennessee's football team in the 1970s, and Chesney, a Tennessee native, jumped at the chance to work on a TV project about the star for sports network ESPN.

He says, "As a kid... I didn't see black or white. I only saw an orange jersey with the number seven on it and that's all that mattered to me. It's not every day you get to make a film about someone you look up to. As a kid, what we had was Tennessee football and we wrapped our arms around it. And that's where my heroes were formed. That's where I learned how to dream; that's where I learned how to love sports like I do. And Condredge Holloway was that person."

"The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story" airs in the U.S. on Sunday, February 20. It's the second football documentary Chesney has made for ESPN - he previously produced a show called "Boys of Fall".
