AceShowbiz - Actor Patrick Dempsey has taken in a giant tortoise after it was found on the side of the freeway in Las Vegas. The 83 pound (37.6 kilograms) African tortoise had been hit by a car.
The animal-loving "Grey's Anatomy" star says, "The animal rescue called and said, 'Would you take this tortoise in?' She has a bit of an eye thing and a nervous twitch but she's fine." He unveiled the animal's photo during his recent appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".
Beside a turtle, Dempsey is also the caretaker of an adopted kitten and two puppies. Last month, his wife Jillian Fink found the puppies, named Dolce and Gabbana, abandoned in a street corner and almost did not make it.
