AceShowbiz - As the first Latina headliner at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Karol G has made a remarkable impact on streaming numbers and music charts following her April 12 performance during the festival's opening weekend.
According to Luminate data, Karol G’s catalog accumulated 40.5 million official on-demand streams in the United States during the tracking week of April 10-16. This figure represents a significant 34% increase over the previous week’s total of 30.3 million streams recorded from April 3-9.
The surge in streaming activity fueled the return of four songs from her Coachella weekend setlist to Billboard’s multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart dated April 25. This chart accounts for airplay, streaming, and digital sales. At the forefront is her former No. 1 hit, Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido, which re-entered at No. 6 with 3.8 million chart-contributing streams, marking a 26% growth.
This song notably held the No. 1 spot for 14 consecutive weeks, the longest reign among her nine chart-toppers. It also ties for the second-longest No. 1 run by a solo female artist without featured collaborators, matching Daniela Romo’s 1986-87 hit De Mi Enamorate. The record is held by Yuri’s Que Te Pasa, which stayed atop for 16 weeks in 1988.
When considering all songs by female artists including collaborations, Shakira’s La Tortura featuring Alejandro Sanz remains dominant with 25 weeks at No. 1 in 2005.
Among other tracks gaining traction, Karol G’s Latina Foreva surged 57% to 2.2 million streams, pushing it back up to No. 15. This follows its initial peak at No. 3 in June 2025. Additionally, Amargura climbed 34% to 2 million streams, reappearing at No. 19, while former chart-topper Provenza, which had a week at No. 1 in 2022, rose 29% to 1.9 million streams and returned at No. 22.
Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido also experienced global chart movement, advancing from No. 153 to No. 115 on the Billboard Global 200 and from No. 124 to No. 109 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.
Streaming and chart gains from Karol G’s headline performance during Coachella’s second weekend on April 19 will be reflected in next week’s Billboard charts dated May 1.
