AceShowbiz - Disney Animation has officially cast the lead voices for its upcoming original film Hexed, scheduled for release on November 25, 2026, just in time for Thanksgiving. The animated feature stars Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones in key roles.

Hailee Steinfeld will lend her voice to Billie, a unique teenager from a dull town who unexpectedly discovers she is a witch. This revelation takes her on a magical journey into an enchanting world she never knew existed. Meanwhile, Rashida Jones voices Billie’s mother, a type-A personality whose life is turned upside down by her daughter's newfound powers and adventures.

The film is directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, with production led by Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones. The project was first unveiled at the Walt Disney Animation Studios D23 event in August 2025 by chief creative officer Jared Bush.

Disney released a teaser featuring Steinfeld’s character interacting with a talking book and pen. The Pen humorously asks Billie, “Have you ever been persecuted, drowned or burned at the stake?” to which Billie replies, “I’ve burned a steak in the microwave.” After signing her name, Billie is introduced to a realm filled with magic and wonder, setting the stage for her extraordinary journey.

Disney Animation has a strong track record with Thanksgiving releases, having dominated the box office during the holiday season. Their previous major release, Zootopia 2, became a worldwide hit, grossing over $1.86 billion globally. Expectations are high for Hexed to continue this successful trend.
