AceShowbiz - Katherine LaNasa, the Emmy-winning actress known for her role in The Pitt, is set to join the cast of the Hulu thriller Count My Lies, according to Deadline. LaNasa will play Tracy, the mother of Sloane, portrayed by Shailene Woodley.
Count My Lies, based on the novel by Sophie Stava, centers on compulsive liar Sloane, who deceives her way into a nanny position with the charming couple Violet and Jay Lockhart. However, Sloane soon discovers the Lockhart household hides dark secrets that could lead to disastrous outcomes for everyone involved.
The series also stars Lindsay Lohan and Kit Harington as Violet and Jay Lockhart, respectively. The show is co-run by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, known for their work on This Is Us.
Katherine LaNasa earned an Emmy last year for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her performance as charge nurse Dana in the HBO Max medical drama The Pitt. Her role in Count My Lies will not interfere with her status on The Pitt, which is a limited series. LaNasa’s other recent TV credits include Daredevil: Born Again and Truth Be Told.
In related casting news, Janai Norman, weekend co-anchor of Good Morning America, announced she is leaving ABC after four years. Norman revealed on social media that her contract was not renewed, expressing sadness over the abrupt departure and the inability to say a proper goodbye.
Also, Connor Tomlinson, a cast member of Netflix’s dating series Love on the Spectrum, confirmed he will not return for the upcoming Season 5. He told Variety that three seasons were enough to share his story and that he intends to pursue love on his own terms.
Additionally, Colin Jost of Saturday Night Live will star as Larry Lavin, a real-life dentist who became a notorious drug lord, in a scripted Peacock drama. The untitled series will trace Lavin’s transformation from Ivy League dentist to the East Coast’s most elusive cocaine kingpin, as reported by Deadline.
