AceShowbiz - Becky G recently spoke candidly about her relationship with Sebastian Lletget, addressing the emotional aftermath of the cheating allegations that surfaced three years ago. Despite the painful circumstances, the couple has worked to rebuild their bond and continue their romance.

During an April 1 episode of Call Her Daddy with host Alex Cooper, Becky G revealed that stepping away from the relationship temporarily was essential for her own healing and self-preservation. She explained that distancing herself wasn't just about protecting her heart but also about removing herself from the expectations she felt she had to meet in any relationship.

"I think removing myself from the relationship," she said, "was about not just self-preservation. Obviously, I was distraught and broken in a lot of ways, but I think it was more like removing myself from the context of anyone I've ever had to be something to."

The process to regain trust was a deliberate and conscious effort they undertook together. Becky G described it as a "conscious uncoupling" to establish a new foundation for their connection. Though emotionally difficult, she found the experience ultimately rewarding and transformative.

"I think that whole like, 'It'll never be the same again,' something about that was actually exciting," she said. "Like, 'Oh, there can be something new,' and it's like, 'Oh, I'm not the same version of myself that I was when I was 19 when you first met me. You are not the same person that you were at [23] when I first met you.' It's just this earned wisdom I guess you can say."

Becky G emphasized that healing was not immediate. It required time, patience, and mutual commitment to change. "That takes time," she said. "That doesn't happen in weeks. That doesn't even happen in months. Like this happens with continued effort and experiences and willingness and it's that commitment to being different on both sides that really is what unlocks the healing of it all."

Sebastian Lletget, who proposed to Becky G in December 2022 after six years together, faced public scrutiny when cheating rumors emerged in 2023. The allegations originated from a social media user who claimed to have proof of his infidelity.

In response, Sebastian Lletget posted on Instagram, calling the accusations an extortion attempt. He explained that during what he called "a moment I regret deeply, a 10-minute lapse in judgment resulted in an extortion plot." He added, "Since this person did not get what they wanted, it has now become a public social media spectacle filled with more lies than any truth and false posts aimed at the love of my life, the one person I should never take for granted or put at risk."

Reflecting on how the public nature of the scandal compounded her pain, Becky G acknowledged the difficulty of managing both private and public heartbreak simultaneously. "There's a private heartbreak that's taking place, and then there's a public heartbreak that's taking place and both are extremely painful," she told Alex Cooper.

She revealed that the hardest part was giving herself grace and space to make decisions that were best for her, emphasizing that desire alone wasn’t enough to overcome the challenges. "Your want isn't enough," she said. "You can want it so bad, but that's just not enough, you know, and I think that understanding where that want comes from is also really important because if you're just doing it to wanna prove other people wrong, then you're just doing it for others and that's not a good place."
