AceShowbiz - Paris streets are currently adorned with posters showcasing iconic songs by Céline Dion, such as Pour Que tu M'aimes Encore and Power of Love. These widespread billboards have intensified speculation about the singer’s potential return to live performances.
According to a recent report by the French publication La Presse, Céline Dion is expected to hold a residency at the Paris La Défense Arena this upcoming September and October. The scheduled series of concerts is said to feature two shows per week at the venue, which can accommodate 40,000 attendees.
Efforts to obtain confirmation from Céline Dion’s representatives were met with no immediate response to inquiries from Rolling Stone.
Céline Dion last embarked on a major headlining tour in 2020 with her Courage tour, which was unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, her ability to perform live has been hampered by her ongoing battle with stiff-person syndrome, a condition that causes painful spasms affecting her daily life and vocal capabilities.
In 2022, Céline Dion openly discussed the impact of the syndrome, stating "these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to."
The potential residency in Paris marks a hopeful sign that Céline Dion may be preparing to reconnect with audiences on stage once again, despite the challenges she has faced in recent years.
