Her journey in entertainment began in the early 1970s as a professional dancer. She toured internationally and performed with the D.C. Repertory Dance Company, eventually appearing at New York’s Delacourt Summer Shakespearean Festival in 1976. Kiki Shepard also made notable appearances on television series like A Different World, Baywatch, NYPD Blue, and Grey's Anatomy.

Aside from television, Kiki Shepard graced the Broadway stage with performances in productions such as Bubbling Brown Sugar, Reggae, Your Arms Too Short to Box With God, and Porgy and Bess. Her film credits include A Rage in Harlem, Miss Evers' Boys, Dolls of Voodoo, and Blackjack Christmas.
