During an appearance at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, Schwarzenegger discussed ongoing conversations with studios about upcoming projects tied to the Predator universe and a follow-up to the 1985 action film Commando. He highlighted filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg’s involvement in expanding the Predator storylines, noting that Trachtenberg is interested in bringing him back for a future installment.
"They did an additional Predator, and the director (Dan Trachtenberg) has been doing a great job of that. Now, he wants me to be in the next Predator. We've talked about it," Schwarzenegger explained, signaling that plans for his return as Dutch in the Predator franchise may be underway.
In addition to these developments, Schwarzenegger revealed that FOX Studios has approached him with a script for a possible sequel to Commando. The actor recounted, "As a matter of fact, FOX Studios has kind of rediscovered 'Arnold.' They've come to me and said, 'We want you to do Predator, we just got a script for you to do Commando 2.'"
Originally, Schwarzenegger starred as Dutch in Predator, a role that remains one of his most celebrated performances. He also portrayed John Matrix, a retired elite soldier who embarks on a daring mission to rescue his kidnapped daughter in Commando.
