AceShowbiz - Sharon Osbourne has announced that Ozzfest is set to make a comeback next year after nearly ten years off the road. The legendary rock festival, closely associated with her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne, will continue with his blessing, as confirmed during her recent conversation at the MIDEM 2026 conference in Cannes, France.

Speaking about the festival's revival, Osbourne recalled the last edition of Ozzfest which took place in 2018 at the Forum in Los Angeles, just a month before Ozzy Osbourne fell ill. "There were no plans to stop it," she revealed, explaining that the festival was meant to carry on but circumstances prevented Ozzy from participating. The two had discussed the future of the event, with Ozzy questioning whether it could succeed without him. Sharon assured him it could, and he agreed that it should continue.

Osbourne envisions the revived Ozzfest as an even larger-scale production, planning to transform it into a touring festival that travels to multiple locations. While the core focus will remain on heavy metal and hard rock acts true to the festival’s roots, there is a possibility of incorporating additional musical genres, broadening the event’s appeal.

The original Ozzfest ran from 1996 through 2018, becoming a major event for fans of the genre. The 2018 festival featured performances by Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Jonathan Davis, and Marilyn Manson. Before his passing on July 22, 2025, due to cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease, Ozzy gave fans a poignant farewell during a "Back to the Beginning" show with Black Sabbath members at Villa Park in Birmingham, his hometown.

With Ozzy Osbourne’s blessing and Sharon Osbourne at the helm, Ozzfest is poised to return as a tribute to his legacy and a celebration of the metal genre’s enduring spirit.
