New cast joins HBO's Westeros! Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay & Peter Mullan enter the world of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, set 90 years before Game of Thrones.

AceShowbiz - Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay, and Peter Mullan have been cast in the upcoming second season of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. This fantasy series, set roughly 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones, will see these actors bring new characters to life within the beloved Westeros universe.
Lucy Boynton takes on the role of Lady Rohanne, while Babou Ceesay will portray Ser Bennis. Peter Mullan joins the cast as Ser Eustace Osgrey. The show centers around the adventures of young knight Ser Duncan "Dunk" the Tall and his companion Egg, who is later revealed to be Prince Aegon Targaryen. The first season, starring Pete Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell, concluded on February 22, 2026 to positive reception.
Boynton is recognized for her performances in A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story and Bohemian Rhapsody. Ceesay is known for his roles in Alien: Earth and Damilola, Our Loved Boy, while Mullan has appeared in series like Ozark and I Swear. Their addition strengthens an already compelling cast as production on season two began in December.
The narrative takes place during a time when House Targaryen still rules the Iron Throne, following Dunk and Egg’s journeys across Westeros. The series is co-created by George R. R. Martin, author of the original Game of Thrones novels, alongside Ira Parker, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal, and Vince Gerardis.
Looking ahead, House of the Dragon Season 3 is slated for an HBO premiere in June 2026. Meanwhile, news surfaced about Beau Willimon of Andor joining a new Game of Thrones movie project that will explore the life of Aegon I Targaryen, the first ruler to unite the Seven Kingdoms.
