AceShowbiz - The K-pop sensation BLACKPINK has launched a visually captivating video for their English-language track "Go," featured on their latest mini album DEADLINE, released Friday morning, February 27.
In the effects-rich clip, the four members—JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA—are transported into an intergalactic setting that blends nautical and cosmic themes. The video opens with the members practicing choreography at a ballet barre, dressed entirely in black, then transitions to scenes of them holding rowing paddles and being secured into futuristic pods aboard a spaceship.
Less than a minute into the 3:21 video, the pulsating, glitch-infused beat of the song intensifies as the screen fills with a silvery pod spinning in space, accompanied by masked rowers propelling a sleek racing shell through a dark void. This striking imagery complements the song’s energetic and adventurous vibe.
The track was co-written by all four members of BLACKPINK alongside Danny Chung, Henry Russel Walter, and Chris Martin from Coldplay. It was produced by Cirkut and Teddy, the group's longtime collaborator. Notably, "Go" marks the first time in their decade-long career that all members have shared songwriting credits on the same song.
LISA delivers a powerful rap verse dressed in a futuristic white ensemble, confidently rapping, "Go get it, I'mma go get it / Never gonna settle for second, I need a gold medal / Get up on the floor, tell me when to go, no slow jams." JENNIE follows with her own energetic lines: "Oh, no, I go when I wanna go, I'm so gone / Go reckless, go off, like, What could go wrong? / I'm goin' all in, you should know that's my go-to / My whole crew with me, if I go, then they go too."
The video continues with dystopian imagery, showing the members being crushed by stones and strapped into ominous machinery. However, the visuals also uplift as the members sprout glass wings and soar through space, singing the chorus with fervor: "BLACKPINK, BLACKPINK, BLACKPINK!"
After a hiatus focused on solo projects, BLACKPINK regrouped to produce the five-track DEADLINE EP, their first major release following the success of Born Pink, which topped the Billboard 200 chart in 2022. The group previewed the EP earlier with the track "JUMP," featuring Diplo, which reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. While "JUMP" includes Korean and English lyrics, the remaining tracks on DEADLINE, including "Go," are performed entirely in English.
The visually stunning "Go" video highlights BLACKPINK's creative evolution, combining high fashion, intense choreography, and otherworldly effects to convey the song’s message of determination and empowerment.
Fans and newcomers alike can experience the new video, which showcases the group's dynamic artistry and boundary-pushing style as they continue to make waves in the global music scene.
