AceShowbiz - Dave Grohl recently opened up about his daughter Violet Grohl’s unexpected journey into the music industry, revealing he had no prior knowledge of her signing a record deal or completing her debut album independently.
In a candid interview on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, posted on February 25, Dave Grohl shared insights into how Violet collaborated with producer Justin Raisen to craft her album without any involvement from him. “She made this album with a producer named Justin Raisen, and she did it on her own,” he said, describing how she would visit the studio daily and send him finished songs without his input.
Dave Grohl admitted he was completely unaware of the record’s progress until Violet casually informed him she had signed a deal. “I knew that she was looking to sign a record deal, but when she came over for dinner and told me, ‘I signed my record deal today,’ I was stunned,” he recalled. “I’m totally uninvolved, and I’m like the dad that wants to be there and know everything, and she’s just totally doing her own thing.”
The timing of Violet’s debut coincides with the upcoming release of the Foo Fighters’ new studio album.
Throughout the interview, Dave Grohl expressed pride in Violet’s accomplishments and emphasized the surprise of witnessing her artistic independence. Her dedication to building a career on her own terms, without his guidance or influence, resonated deeply with him as both a father and musician.
