On February 16, dialect coach William Conacher shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram showcasing Robbie alongside co-star Jacob Elordi and the film’s cast. In the clip, Robbie, dressed in her character Cathy’s period costume featuring a corset and flowing skirt, performs her own take on Bush’s distinctive arm movements and leg kicks that defined the 1978 music video for “Wuthering Heights.”
Conacher captioned the post, “Cathy may not have a great time in the movie but we had a lovely time making it. Here is the joyous Margot on our last day of shooting.” This playful homage highlighted the actress’s connection to the role and the enduring influence of Bush’s song on the film’s atmosphere.
Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights” was released in 1978 as the lead single from her debut album The Kick Inside. The track, sung from Cathy’s perspective, topped the U.K. Official Singles Chart for four weeks and remains one of Bush’s most celebrated works. Despite its significance to the story, the film’s official soundtrack was composed by Charli XCX, who released an accompanying album titled Wuthering Heights on February 13, coinciding with the film’s theatrical debut.
While Bush has not released a full album since 2011’s 50 Words for Snow, she expressed enthusiasm in 2024 about returning to the studio to create new music, telling BBC Radio 4, “I’ve got lots of ideas, and I’m really looking forward to getting back into that creative space — it’s been a long time.”
