AceShowbiz - Law & Order: SVU's Kelli Giddish has given fans a glimpse into her character's relationship with her on-screen husband, played by Peter Scanavino. In a recent interview, Giddish discussed the upcoming episodes of the show, which will feature more interactions between her character, Sgt. Amanda Rollins, and her husband, Assistant District Attorney Dominick "Sonny" Carisi.
According to Giddish, the format of the show is designed to focus on the law and order aspects, but she hinted that Rollisi fans can expect to see more of the couple's relationship in the coming episodes. She mentioned that her character will partner up with Curry and that Carisi will make appearances in the squad room, allowing for more interactions between the two characters.
Giddish also shared a story about a recent scene she shot with Mariska Hargitay's Capt. Olivia Benson, in which Benson praises Carisi for his work. Giddish's original line was a joke about Carisi not being able to unload a dishwasher, but she asked to change it to a more positive comment, saying "And he even knows how to load a dishwasher!" She explained that she wanted to focus on the positive aspects of the relationship, saying "They really appreciate each other. They respect each other. They're gonna disagree with each other. They're gonna give each other s–t — just like a stable, supportive relationship will."
Giddish credited her real-life relationship with Peter Scanavino for the ease and chemistry between their characters on screen. She previewed that there will be moments in the upcoming episodes that will delight Rollisi fans, saying "There's moments that we create and that are written that I think the audience is really gonna take enjoyment out of." With the show's focus on the law and order aspects, it will be interesting to see how Law & Order: SVU balances the personal relationships of its characters, including the Rollisi storyline.
As the season progresses, fans can expect to see more of Rollins and Carisi's relationship, both in and out of the squad room. With Giddish's insight into the characters' relationship and the show's upcoming episodes, it's clear that Law & Order: SVU is committed to exploring the personal lives of its characters, making for a more engaging and relatable viewing experience.
