AceShowbiz - The long-awaited exploration of Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally becoming a reality, thanks to a dedicated group of fans. A massive upcoming mod, called Nuevo Paraíso, will unlock the Mexico map, allowing players to explore the region. As posted by user zoyser on the RDR2 Reddit page, the mod will be a large-scale addition to the game, featuring new missions, settlements, and full world integration.

The team of fans working on Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier has stated that the game is set in 1907 and will include rebuilt versions of towns like Chuparosa. The mod will also feature unique vegetation and NPC behaviors, side missions, and other locales, with content comparable to a DLC. The placement of its timeline will go right along with when Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place, and it seems like the expansion will aim to maintain continuity with the base game.

Although the mod is still in development, and no release date has been given, fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival on Nexus Mods. Currently, it's only planned for PC, but the full trailer can be viewed online. This Mexico mod isn't the first of its kind, as fans have previously figured out how to glitch into Mexico and have released mods letting players access parts of the country. However, Nuevo Paraíso seems to be the most expansive one yet, using the Red Dead Redemption 1 Mexico map to create a rich and immersive experience.

With Rockstar unlikely to release an official Mexico DLC, these fan-made mods are the next best thing. By using the Red Dead Redemption 1 Mexico map, Nuevo Paraíso will have plenty of settlements and side missions, as well as NPCs and unique fauna and flora. There's a lot to be excited about, and hopefully, the Nuevo Paraíso expansion for Red Dead Redemption 2 will come out sooner rather than later.
