AceShowbiz - If you've been keeping up with Azealia Banks' social media, you might be aware of her latest life-changing decision. The rapper has traded in the hustle and bustle of New York City for the serene lifestyle of Sweden.
The rapper recently took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share her excitement about her new life in Sweden. The stark difference in cost of living and the peaceful environment were major draws for her.
"I'm loving the swedish life. Lmao I moved here to live in luxury for a fraction of the price I pay to live in a tent in NYC, LA or Miami," she posted.
But economics wasn't the only factor. Banks also cited the “toxic” food and water in the U.S., alongside the "redundant race wars" and rampant "gun violence," as reasons for her move. Ultimately, she expressed her disapproval of the current state of America with a candid "USA is for the BIZZURDS."
Her decision to move comes on the heels of her admission that she might have made a wrong political choice by voting for Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
Banks described the country as "an absolute disaster" and accused Trump of being "petty and vindictive." This is a significant shift from her earlier stance, where she had once lavishly praised Trump, calling him her "f**king hero."
Banks' political journey has been as unpredictable as her career. In 2016, her endorsements swung wildly. Initially supporting Trump, she flipped to criticize him after the "grab 'em by the p***y" tape emerged, only to back him again post-election.
For the 2020 election, she switched allegiances multiple times, even considering a vote for Kamala Harris before settling on Trump once more and proudly displaying her ballot on social media.
Following her regret, Banks reflected on the broader implications of Trump's policies. She pointed to China as a country that has seemingly gained the upper hand, saying, "China is dunking on everyone right now," and adding, "Thb i love that for China tho. and really do love China in general. China is the Doll."
