AceShowbiz - New shocking revelations have emerged in the case involving the fatal police shooting of Geoffrey Shyam Stirling, brother of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" alum Lydia McLaughlin. At the heart of the disturbance are claims from law enforcement that Stirling attempted to assault an officer and use the officer's taser.
The Newport Beach Police Department has provided an account of events leading up to the shooting, detailing that Stirling was pulled over during a traffic stop while riding a motorcycle on Pacific Coast Highway.
According to officials, the situation escalated when Stirling allegedly became uncooperative. During the scuffle, Stirling allegedly managed to remove the officer’s taser from their duty belt and attempted to use it against the cop. This act prompted what the authorities have described as an "officer-involved shooting."
Stirling was shot at the scene and later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. No officers were injured in the incident. The California Department of Justice is now investigating the shooting, with findings set to be reviewed independently by the DOJ's Special Prosecutions Section within the Criminal Law Division.
