AceShowbiz - FKA Twigs took to social media last Friday to deliver the heart-wrenching news that her April North American tour dates have been cancelled entirely. The news arrived more than a week after she ditched her first shows in U.S. and Canada.
The latest announcement has dashed the hopes of many fans who were eagerly anticipating her performances, including her much-awaited slots at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, and the AXE Ceremonia festival in Mexico City this weekend.
"Im devastated to share the news that due to ongoing visa issues I am not able to see through any of my scheduled tour dates for the remainder of April across North America, including Ceremonia and Coachella," Twigs shared on social media.
"It pains me to say this because I am so excited to bring you a creation that I have poured my soul into and I believe is amongst my strongest work and I know this news impacts so many of you that have already made plans and spent money in order to see these shows."
The cancellation stems from a failure on the part of her production team to complete the paperwork necessary for obtaining visas.
Twigs further explained that the logistical complexities of touring have added to the challenges she has faced. She had previously postponed several dates, including shows in Chicago, Toronto, and New York, due to the same visa-related issues.
"Today I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner for us to have our visas to come to the USA and perform," the singer stated.
"So that means by no choice of my own I will have to pull out of my New York, Chicago, and Toronto shows. For those of you who are wondering why I have to pull out of Toronto, it's because of routing and just the complex beast that touring is."
The tour, which had already seen successful dates in Europe, was launched in support of her third studio album, "Eusexua." The album, released on January 24, has been met with critical acclaim and climbed multiple charts.
In her emotional social media posts, Twigs reassured fans that efforts are underway to reschedule the cancelled dates. She advised ticket holders to refer to their point of purchase for refund information and updates.
"Back to you all with more updates as soon as I have them - in the meantime here are some of my favorite parts of the show that we worked so hard to create," she added, sharing images of memorable moments from her tour so far.
This marks another high-profile cancellation for Coachella Festival after Brazilian pop star Anitta pulled out last month due to "unexpected personal reasons." As fans await further updates, the hopes for a rescheduled tour loom amidst the shared frustration and disappointment.
