Wile E. Coyote, the relentless pursuer of the Road Runner, is finally getting the spotlight he deserves amid rumors that Warner Bros. is looking to get rid of the entire Looney Tunes brand.

AceShowbiz - "Coyote vs. Acme" is coming to big screen after all. Ketchup Entertainment confirmed that the live-action/animated hybrid Looney Tunes spin-off has been acquired from Warner Bros. Pictures.
Ketchup Entertainment's CEO, Gareth West, commented, " 'Coyote vs. Acme' is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, capturing the essence of the beloved Looney Tunes characters while introducing them to a new generation."
This movie is set to feature a star-studded cast including John Cena, Lana Condor, Will Forte, and Tone Bell, under the direction of Dave Green ("Super 8"). The story follows Wile E. Coyote as he sues the Acme Corporation for the countless faulty products that have thwarted his endless attempts to catch the Road Runner.
The journey to get this movie on screens has been tumultuous. The film was initially shelved in late 2023, leaving fans and cast disappointed. "It is such a delightful movie. It deserves so much better than it got. I can't tell you possibly why the decision was made to not release it. But it makes my blood boil," Will Forte said.
The cancellation followed a string of similar moves by Warner Bros. to abandon projects like "Batgirl" and "Wonder Twins." A spokesperson for Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group said at the time, "With the re-launch of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation in June, the studio has shifted its global strategy to focus on theatrical releases. With this new direction, we have made the difficult decision not to move forward with 'Coyote vs. Acme.'
Rumors have surfaced that Warner Bros. is considering selling the entire Looney Tunes brand. Industry insider Jeff Sneider suggested, "I'm told that part of the reason WB decided to sell 'Coyote vs. Acme' to Ketchup rather than take a tax credit...is because the studio is trying to sell off the Looney Tunes altogether."
This development comes after other notable changes at Warner Bros., including the removal of the original "Looney Tunes" animated shorts from the Max streaming platform as the company shifts its focus towards adult and family programming.
With "Coyote vs. Acme" looking towards a potential 2026 release, fans can finally look forward to seeing Wile E. Coyote's legal battle on the big screen. The anticipation builds as Ketchup Entertainment steps in to give the film - and its iconic characters - the spotlight they deserve.
