A copy of Bible with ties to both the infamous O.J. Simpson trial and the Kardashian family has been sold for a substantial sum following Kim Kardashian's unsuccessful attempt to buy it.

AceShowbiz - O.J. Simpson's 1994 copy of "The Living Bible" gifted by his friend and attorney Robert Kardashian, has fetched $80,276 at an online auction. The sale, managed by the Goldin auction site, attracted 49 bids, with the winning bid at $65,800 plus a buyer's premium fee.

The auction took place after Robert's daughter, reality-TV star and media mogul Kim Kardashian, unsuccessfully attempted to buy the book directly from the O.J.'s estate.

The Bible was a significant token of friendship and support, given to Simpson amid his tumultuous legal battles following the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Robert Kardashian, a key member of Simpson's defense team, presented the Bible inscribed with a heartfelt message, "O.J., This book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book every day. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you.”

Kim's offer of $15,000 was declined by Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson's estate. LaVergne explained to People magazine, "Why would I spend $15,000 in attorney's fees - to sell it to Kim for $15,000? That's a zero-sum game. If Kim had offered $150,000 for it, we would've been in court getting this approved outside of the auction."

Despite her initial bid being rejected, Kim Kardashian had the opportunity to participate in the online auction. It's unclear if she's among the online bidders.

The Kardashian family's connection to O.J. Simpson is deeply rooted. Robert Kardashian, who passed away from esophageal cancer in 2003, remained a loyal friend to Simpson during the high-profile murder trial while Kris Jenner, Robert's then-wife and mother to the Kardashian children, was also close friends with Nicole Brown Simpson, adding another layer of complexity to their intertwined lives.

O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted of the criminal charges in Nicole's murder, was later found liable in a civil trial and served nine years in prison for an unrelated armed robbery. He passed away in April 2024 at the age of 76 from prostate cancer.
