AceShowbiz - "Saturday Night Live" writer Josh Patten couldn't resist joking about Morgan Wallen's Instagram post following the country singer's abrupt departure from the NBC sketch show.
During the closing credits, the country music singer, who performed two songs "I'm the Problem" and "Just in Case" earlier on the show, abruptly walked off the stage right after hugging Mikey Madison, the host of the night. His unexpected move was caught on camera, sparking a buzz on the internet.
Wallen took to Instagram shortly after, posting a photo of a private jet with the caption, "Get me to God's country."
Hours later, Patten shared an Instagram Story a picture of a Krispy Kreme truck with the identical caption, clearly referencing Wallen's earlier post.
Aware that his post could be seen as a shade at the musician, Patten followed up with another story showing his 2023 Apple Music Replay, which prominently featured Wallen's music, alongside an eye-rolling emoji. "Guessing Patten's not a Morgan Wallen fan?" he mockingly predicted the headlines.
This was not Wallen's first controversial moment with SNL. His initial appearance on the show was postponed in October 2020 after he was spotted breaking COVID-19 protocols.
He later apologized for his actions, acknowledging that he had jeopardized the show and his own dreams. Wallen eventually returned in December 2020, where he participated in a skit that humorously addressed his earlier transgressions.
Wallen's career has been marked by ups and downs. His use of a racial slur in 2021 led to a temporary setback, with radio stations and award shows distancing themselves from him. He also got into trouble for his drunken antics, with him being arrested last year for throwing a chair from a rooftop.
Amidst these drama, Morgan Wallen is gearing up to release his new album on May 16 this year.
