AceShowbiz - Lisa Rinna talked about her departure from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills". She pointed fingers at the show's fan base for pushing her to quit after eight impactful seasons.
Known initially for her no-nonsense attitude, Rinna decided to leave the Bravo show in 2023. In a revelation-packed episode of the "Therapuss" podcast, she opened up about her struggles with fan feedback which she felt had turned overwhelmingly negative.
"It got very difficult toward the end because of social media," Rinna explained. She highlighted the increasingly cruel criticism she received online. "Everybody got really comfortable behind their computers, saying anything," she lamented.
She especially accused fans of spreading negative narrative about her, "The fans were the ones that ran me off that show. It wasn't Bravo. It wasn't the girls. It was the fan base... they villainized me in a way that I just didn't want to live like that anymore. And that is the truth."
Despite her departure, Rinna has thrived beyond reality television, making strides in the fashion and modeling industry by walking the runway for top brands like Marc Jacobs. Yet, calls for her return to "RHOBH" persist. Even with such appeals, Rinna remains adamant on her stance.
"The fan base has to know that it's because of them that I left the show, and that's something that I don't think they want to take responsibility for," she said. "I left because the fan base turned on me."
"The fan base turns on everybody after a while. But this was a way that I was like, 'Life's too short, not doing to do this anymore. It was too much,' " she added, conceding that the negativity, combined with grief of her mother's passing, was "just too much."
In her post-"RHOBH" life, Rinna has taken on new ventures, including a co-hosting role on a podcast with her husband titled "Let's Not Talk About the Husband", reflecting a fresh, creative chapter away from the reality TV cameras.
As fans and critics alike continue to examine Rinna's candid confession, it's an unequivocal reminder of the intense pressures public figures face in the digital age.
