AceShowbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle are quashing rumors of a feud in the friendliest way possible! The Goop founder and CEO, 52, addressed the gossip during a question and answer session on her Instagram Stories, where she directly responded to a follower's query about her relationship with the Duchess of Sussex, 43.
"Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?" a fan asked, to which Paltrow promptly replied, "I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever," while standing in her kitchen, where background sounds of clinking utensils added a homey feel to the setting.
Adding a delightful twist, Paltrow turned to someone sitting off-camera and asked, "Do you understand this?" The camera then revealed Meghan, casually sitting at the same kitchen table, consuming a slice of pie and signaling her equally baffled stance on the non-existent feud.
Their brief but heartwarming video followed a recent video of Paltrow cooking in her kitchen, which left fans clamouring about an alleged shade thrown at Markle even though the Goop founder had already refuted the notion of competition between her lifestyle brand, Goop, and Meghan's new venture, As Ever.
"I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes," Paltrow shared in a Vanity Fair cover story. She emphasized an abundance mindset, saying, "Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try. Another woman is never your competition."
Despite living close to Meghan and Prince Harry in Montecito, California, Paltrow clarified that she did not know the couple personally. "I don't know Meghan and Harry," she said. "I mean, I've met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don't know her at all. Maybe I'll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie."
It seems like it she did invite the Duchess for a slice of pie, and they quickly hit it off together.
Before launching her upcoming cooking and gardening series, "With Love, Meghan", a mother of two, had a lifestyle and cooking blog called The Tig, which she shut down in 2017 as her relationship with Prince Harry progressed. Like The Tig, Paltrow's Goop has its origins in a home and lifestyle weekly newsletter dating back to 2008.
With their similar business ventures, they are bound to be compared and people love stirring up the drama when there's none especially when it comes to Meghan Markle. This episode with Gwyneth Paltrow perfectly sums up the controversies surrounding the former "Suits" actress.
