AceShowbiz - Just days after Joe Gatto, former star of "Impractical Jokers," was accused of sexual assault by a TikTok user, a former employee has stepped forward with her own troubling experiences with the comedian.
On March 20, a TikTok user named joozyb accused Gatto, 48, of sexually assaulting her when she was 19 in Milwaukee. The allegations, made via now-deleted videos, were denied by Gatto.
Another woman who previously worked for Gatto during his tenure on "Impractical Jokers" has since accused him of inappropriate behavior that she categorized as sexual harassment.
Her first interaction with Gatto began at one of his live shows, which she attended at age 15. However, the nature of their relationship changed drastically when she turned 18 and became flirtatious.
She claims she was later employed by Gatto shortly after her college graduation and worked for him for two years. During this period, she alleges that Gatto frequently made unwanted advances, such as grabbing her inappropriately, asking for back massages, and making intimate inquiries about her intimate life. On a work trip, she alleges that Gatto grabbed her upper thigh in an elevator, which made her uncomfortable.
The former employee also recounted a warning she had received from her predecessor, who cited Gatto's tendencies to be handsy and flirty. According to her, shutting down inappropriate behavior was crucial advice that soon proved necessary as Gatto's actions continued to cross professional boundaries.
Additionally, the accuser stated that Gatto would often claim to be in an open marriage with his wife, Bessy, whom he later separated from in 2021 after eight years of marriage. The couple has since reconciled.
Gatto would also react jealously to social media posts featuring the ex-employee's boyfriend and be rude to her if she rejected his advances.
Gatto issued a response to the first accusations, acknowledging, "I have used poor judgment and as a result have violated the trust of the people I love most," but vehemently denying the assault claim, "But anyone who knows me at all knows full well that I wouldn't assault anyone."
He also mentioned that working on himself is an ongoing process, and he plans to step away from the public eye to focus on personal growth.
With the gravity of these allegations, the broader public response and potential legal outcomes remain to be seen. As the accusers seek justice and clarity, many are reminded of the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and addressing inappropriate behavior in the workplace.
