AceShowbiz - Lily Allen did not hold back when discussing the dating habits of older men and their preference for younger women. Her remarks came hot on the heels of her split from David Harbour, with whom she had a four-year marriage that concluded in February.

"Aging is particularly inconvenient if you get your validation from the attention of men, which I do… They seem to like them young, don't they?" Allen, 39, remarked to her co-host Miquita Oliver in the latest episode of her podcast "Miss Me?" on Thursday, March 20.

Despite Oliver's attempt to downplay the generalization, Allen firmly stood by her view, "Oh, I think you'll find it is! I think you'll find it is," she asserted before elaborating on her stance, "Older women can see the unattractiveness of men better than young, dumb women, which is why, essentially, men like them young and dumb."

Although Allen and Oliver, 40, admitted to having recently flirted with older men themselves during a trip to Kenya, Allen was still skeptical of their intentions, emphasizing, "But they will still leave you for a 20-year-old! Don't get it twisted."

While dealing with marital strains, the "Smile" artist is also tackling various mental health challenges. "I just feel very grateful to have been given the time and the space that I needed," she shared upon her return from a brief break to seek professional help for her mental wellbeing.

"I did a lot of group therapy and some individual therapy and I just, I needed some time and space away from everything," she noted. Her treatment included working through "inner child stuff," which she admitted was "not easy by any stretch," but recognized as a pivotal part of her ongoing healing journey.

Lily Allen and David Harbour, who tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2020 after meeting on the celebrity dating app Raya, decided to go their separate ways earlier this year. Allen is a mother to two daughters, Marnie Rose, 12, and Ethel Mary, 13, with her ex-husband Sam Cooper.

Harbour, 49, is currently romantically linked to 27-year-old aspiring model Ellie Fallon. They also reportedly met on Raya.
