In a surprising move, Guns N' Roses have announced the departure of their longest-serving drummer Frank Ferrer, who has been with the band for nearly two decades.

AceShowbiz - Guns N' Roses are bidding farewell to their longtime drummer Frank Ferrer. The band said there was no drama behind Ferrer's exit, describing it as "amicable" marking the end of his 19-year tenure.

Ferrer, who joined the band in 2006, has been a crucial part of their rhythm section, providing consistent performances through numerous tours including the notable reunion of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan.

The band made the announcement through a press release, stating, "Guns N' Roses announce the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer, the longest-serving drummer in their storied run. The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey."

Ferrer's impact on the band extended beyond live performances. He contributed to five tracks on their 2008 album "Chinese Democracy," and also featured on the live portion of their 2022 "Hard Skool EP." His final appearance with Guns N' Roses was at the Hell & Heaven Metal Fest in Mexico on November 5, 2023.

Although the band has not yet announced Ferrer's replacement, they are gearing up for a world tour titled "Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things," which kicks off on May 1, in Incheon, South Korea. The tour will also stop in various countries across the Middle East and Europe.

Ferrer joined Guns N' Roses to replace Bryan "Brain" Mantia. Before his time with Guns N' Roses, Ferrer played with bands like The Beautiful, Love Spit Love, and The Psychedelic Furs. He has also been involved with The Compulsions and co-founded the rock band PSSR in 2019.

His departure comes hot on the heels of a reflective period where former GNR drummer Matt Sorum discussed his own experience of not being invited to the band's reunion. Sorum expressed that he's now at peace with the situation, though it was initially a challenging episode.

Guns N' Roses' legacy includes a rotating roster of drummers, each leaving their mark on the band's illustrious history. From their debut album "Appetite for Destruction" featuring Steven Adler, to "Use Your Illusion" sessions with Matt Sorum, each era brought a distinct drumming style to the band's sound.

As fans eagerly await the announcement of the new drummer, both the band and Frank Ferrer look towards their futures with excitement and optimism. Ferrer's musical journey is set to continue evolving, just as Guns N' Roses embark on their next chapter.
