AceShowbiz - In a compelling and candid interview with Vanity Fair, Gwyneth Paltrow provided insights into her past and present relationships. She reflected on her former beau Brad Pitt, comparing their relationship to dating "Prince William or something."
Their relationship, which started in 1994 after their meeting on the set of "Seven", lasted until 1997 and consistently captured public interest. "He's a very intriguing character," Paltrow said, likening their romance to a royal affair due to the constant fascination it garnered.
Paltrow delved into her breakup with Pitt, revealing that although the split was challenging, it was the right decision at the time. "I was totally heartbroken when we broke up," she admitted.
At 24, Paltrow felt unprepared for marriage, a stark contrast to Pitt, who was more certain about his life's direction, "He knew what he wanted, he was ready to do it, and I was kind of all over the place."
Following her breakup with Pitt, Paltrow found love again with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, whom she married in 2003. They share two children, Apple and Moses. Despite their "conscious uncoupling" in 2014, Paltrow highlighted the strong bond they maintain. "It's not quite brother, but we are complete family," she said.
Martin is currently in a relationship with actress Dakota Johnson, and Paltrow is happy with their co-parenting dynamic.
Paltrow also spoke about her current husband, Brad Falchuk, a TV and movie producer, whom she married in 2018. She described their blended family, which includes Falchuk's children from his previous marriage, as "quite beautiful."
Despite challenges, Paltrow emphasized the value of focusing on positive memories from previous relationships and embracing new possibilities.
Touching on her professional life, Paltrow addressed recent scrutiny about GOOP's financial status following layoffs in 2024. She clarified, "We are not doing this because the business is faltering. We're doing this because I need to optimize EBITDA...My business is a good business and it's a strong business and the brand is strong."
Paltrow also shared her thoughts on the MeToo movement, noting significant changes in Hollywood's culture but acknowledging ongoing abuses of power.
