AceShowbiz - Grimes "begged" her ex Elon Musk to refrain from showcasing their three children on social media and in public forums. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the musician expressed her growing concern about the public exposure affecting their children.
"I unfortunately do not control the internet and cannot wipe this from the internet. I have tried begging the public and my kid's dad to keep them offline, and I've tried legal recourse," she wrote.
The couple, who announced their split in September 2021 after three years together, share three children: X Æ A-Xii (also known as Lil X), Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, and Techno Mechanicus (aka Tau). Their relationship has been a frequent topic of public discourse, especially concerning the children's upbringing and privacy.
Grimes' frustration intensified when Musk brought their oldest child, Lil X, to the Oval Office on February 11 to witness former President Donald Trump sign an executive order enhancing the powers of Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Grimes revealed she was unaware of this appearance until she was notified by another X user. "He should not be in public like this," she wrote, voicing her discomfort over her son's media exposure.
Additional tensions surfaced when Grimes accused Musk of ignoring a "medical crisis" involving one of their children. Although she didn't specify which child was affected, she publicly called out Musk on X.
Grimes explained she was forced to resort to social media because she tried to contact Musk privately but to no avail. "This requires immediate attention," she wrote back then, adding that the child could suffer permanent impairment if not treated immediately.
The musician has also been outspoken about broader issues related to child privacy in the digital age. She lamented the absence of effective legal protections to keep children away from public scrutiny.
"The state of my children's lives being public is of grave concern to me and I think about how to solve this every day. It's insane to me that there's no way to deal with this. I would hope there was some law that would allow a parent to veto small children from living public lives but I don't even trust the law to help me now if I tried to invoke it to be honest."
With Musk being a father to 14 children, the intricacies of his family dynamics frequently capture public interest. He is currently expecting his 14th child with tech executive Shivon Zilis while facing legal battle with Ashley St. Clair, the mother of his 13th child, whom he met only 3 times since birth.
As Grimes continues her battle for her children's privacy, Elon Musk's complex family dynamics continue to spark debate.
