AceShowbiz - Ne-Yo, the renowned R&B artist, has recently opened up about his polyamorous relationships, introducing the world to his four romantic partners. In doing so, he has sparked curiosity and conversations about unconventional relationship dynamics.
Taking to social media, Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, shared a post featuring the women he is currently involved with.
"Since the world is so intrigued, I guess I should introduce my loves properly. LADIES AND GENTS I PRESENT MY PYRAMID," he wrote. His partners include Cristina - known as "Pretty Baby," Arielle Hill - called "Twin Flame," Moneii - dubbed "Phoenix Feather," and Brionna Williams - endearingly referred to as "Sexy Lil' Somethin'. "
Ne-Yo's post included individual pictures and videos of each partner, as well as group photos. Interestingly, three of the women - Cristina, Hill, and Moneii - refer to themselves as "wives" and jointly run an Instagram account titled @the.mrs.lefts, which documents their relationship with the musician.
The singer has been open about the dynamics of his polyamorous lifestyle, emphasizing the honesty and consent inherent in their arrangement.
In a February 20 interview with the "Rickey Smiley Morning Show," he defended his unconventional love life, "I ain't manipulating nobody, I ain't brainwash nobody, I ain't lying to nobody. I set it out there. ‘Here's what it is. I like you, but I also like her, and her, and her. If you cool with that, come on we gonna have a great time.'"
Ne-Yo previously revealed that he views this transparent approach as a lesson learned from his past. "I feel like I wasted a lot of time just being dishonest about things, to the point where had I taken this approach initially, I could've saved myself a lot of headache and heartache," he shared.
His past relationships include a marriage to Crystal Renay, with whom he shares three children, and previous relationships that produced four more children.
The polyamorous dynamic, however, has not been free from criticism. Ex-girlfriend Sade Jenea Bagnerise, who once accused Ne-Yo of physical assault, criticized his new lifestyle.
Nevertheless, Ne-Yo and his current partners maintain that they are content and committed to each other. "Everybody's honest. Everybody's telling the truth. Everybody is consenting," Ne-Yo reiterated.
Ne-Yo's relationship choices have sparked varying opinions, but he remains steadfast in his belief that polyamory works for him. As he humorously noted in a podcast appearance, "Don't go and ask your girlfriend for a girlfriend and say what Ne-Yo said. Don't do that."
