Even global icons face fashion challenges. Rihanna, known for her fearless style, opens up about her sartorial struggles and rediscovering her passion for fashion in the wake of having two sons.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna, 37, got candid about the significant changes she experienced after becoming a mother to two toddlers, RZA, 2½, and Riot, 18 months, with partner A$AP Rocky.

In her March cover story for Harper's Bazaar's "The Legacy" issue, she dished on one particular shift, "I feel like getting dressed is a fight on its own [now]. Everything is so … logical. 'What makes sense? What's easy? What's fast?' I try not to overthink all that stuff, but you're leaving the house. It kind of stops you from going out."

Fans have always looked up to Rihanna as a trendsetter as she made waves with her bold maternity looks during pregnancies. Postpartum, however, was a different journey. The Grammy-winning singer's once famed enthusiasm for fashion seemingly took a backseat as she adjusted to the demands of motherhood.

She struggled to rediscover her style so much that she felt like she missed "the fun." She explained, "How much energy do I have to put into getting ready? Doing my makeup, doing my hair, and then going to the closet and figuring out which three things in this entire room make sense together? You go through a fog."

"I am exhausted. I am tired. I am done, over it," she admitted in her April 2025 cover interview.

Adding to this struggle was her hair loss. Speaking to Refinery29 in June 2024, she revealed, "I didn't expect [hair loss] to happen in waves. I thought it would just happen and grow back." She adapted by getting "more creative and clever" with her hairstyles.

Her resilience eventually paid off. "[I'm] starting to have fun again," she said. "Now I'm starting to just remember what I loved about it: the juxtaposition, putting the things together that don't make sense. My fashion has always been driven by my mood, and my mood was on mom mode for a minute."

Rihanna's postpartum journey offers inspiration to many, proving that even the most glamorous faces contend with similar struggles.
