The former James Bond actor has withdrawn from the upcoming DC Studios film 'Sgt. Rock,' which would have reunited him with 'Queer' director Luca Guadagnino.

AceShowbiz - Daniel Craig, known for his iconic portrayal of James Bond, has dropped out of an upcoming DC comic book movie. He was initially set to play Sgt. Franklin "Frank" Rock but now he's no longer attached to the project.

With Craig's exit and principal photography due in the UK this summer, DC Studios is said to be actively seeking a new lead actor. Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in critically-acclaimed series "The Bear," is reportedly being eyed as a potential replacement.

Set in the World War II, the movie will revolve around the tough-as-nails leader of Easy Company. It will be helmed by Luca Guadagnino, who directed Craig in 2024's movie "Queer".

While no official statement has been released by DC Studios, sources suggest that Craig's departure may be due to scheduling conflicts or dissatisfaction with "Queer," which failed to score any Oscar nod despite earning multiple nominations including a Golden Globe.

Despite pulling out of the superhero project, Daniel Craig remains busy with his next projects including the third installment of Rian Johnson's "Knives Out" franchise, "Wake Up Dead Man," and "Two for the Money" with Charlize Theron.

Meanwhile, Guadagnino's upcoming films include "After the Hunt" with Julia Roberts, a remake of "American Psycho" with Austin Butler, and an adaptation of "Separate Rooms" with Josh O'Connor.
