AceShowbiz - Kelsea Ballerini addressed her surprise cameo on "Southern Charm" when she was an emerging artist back in 2015. "It haunts me forever," the country music singer confessed on "Cosmopolitan's Cheap Shots."

Ballerini claimed she was set up by her label. "I was on [a] radio tour, and I was doing a show for the radio station on a boat. They were filming Southern Charm on the boat. I didn't know that," she recalled.

Without her prior knowledge, her label decided to have her participate in a charity auction for a date with one of its cast members, Craig Conover. "I was pushed into frame," the singer said.

She ended up bidding $5,001 for the date, a moment that surprised even Conover. "I did not expect Kelsea Ballerini to bid on me," Conover said at the time, expressing relief that it wasn't "some, like, weirdo or creepy person."

Ultimately, the planned date between Ballerini and Conover did not materialize. Instead, it was auctioned off again via the radio station for charity. Looking back, Ballerini laughs it off, "Everything is great as it turns out."

Indeed, in the years following the "Southern Charm" cameo, Ballerini's star has dramatically risen in the country music scene. She topped the charts and collected multiple accolades for her records.

Kelsea Ballerini is currently dating "Outer Banks" actor Chase Stokes. Their relationship began following her divorce from Morgan Evans in 2022.
