
Katie Thurston of the 'Bachelor Nation' fame, has opened up about her cancer diagnosis and her determination to fight the disease with the unwavering support of her fiancé, Jeff Arcuri.

AceShowbiz - Former "The Bachelorette" star Katie Thurston, 34, announced her cancer diagnosis in an emotional Instagram post on February 15. Thurston, who appeared on Matt James' season of "The Bachelor" and later led the 17th season of "The Bachelorette," shared two photosalongside a heartfelt caption.
"Yesterday I saw all the couples post their Valentines Day celebrations. I felt envious if I'm being honest," Thurston wrote before sharing that her initial plans with fiance. "Jeff took me to Hawaii and after, we were going to travel the world before planting roots together in NYC finally."
However, her hope for a perfect holiday with comedian Jeff Arcuri was ruined. "Instead, my Vday was spent coordinating a place to live as I have to go back to LA for more testing and treatment," she revealed.
Thurston was busy arranging her medical appointments and figuring out insurance details related to her treatment. "I used my morning to figure out insurance for NYC and laws on preexisting conditions," she explained.
"I scheduled appointments for another biopsy, fertility, mental health, surgery, as well as meeting with my team to discuss the overall treatment plan, which will include chemo."
Diagnosed two weeks prior to her announcement, Thurston admitted to feeling a range of emotions, including "despair, anger, sadness, denial, and then strength." Despite crying "a lot" and finding it difficult to make a video message about her diagnosis, she ultimately chose to post her story online.
"One thing I did early on was search other stories like mine" she shared, hoping to offer the same support to others that she found in similar stories.
In her post, Thurston also thanked Arcuri for his unwavering support, writing, "To my extraordinary husband to be @jarcuri - I don't know how I'd do this without you. The selfless love that you smother me in is beyond anything I imagined I'd be blessed with. I love you to the fullest in this lifetime and the next."
Thurston's brave revelation has garnered support from fellow "Bachelor Nation" alumni, including Jade Roper, Kaitlyn Bristowe, and Clare Crawley, who all sent their love and encouragement. Thurston's fight against cancer may be just beginning, but she is ready to take it on with strength and purpose.
