AceShowbiz - Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt in "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning", an action-packed adventure filled with jaw-dropping stunts, a star-studded cast, and the conclusion of Cruise's iconic role as the super-spy.
In a new Super Bowl trailer for the film, Cruise implores his team to join him on one final perilous mission, despite the overwhelming risks. The spot showcases Cruise dangling upside down from an airborne plane, a feat that pushed his physical limits.
Despite being no stranger to daring stunts, Cruise revealed the intensity of his latest endeavor. In an interview with Empire magazine, he revealed that he fainted several times while filming the death-defying stunt, "When you stick your face out, going over 120 to 130 miles an hour, you're not getting oxygen. So I had to train myself how to breathe. There were times I would pass out physically; I was unable to get back into the cockpit."
"The Final Reckoning", a continuation of "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning", will follow Ethan Hunt and his team searching for a powerful AI program called The Entity. If it falls into the wrong hands, it could have catastrophic consequences.
Joining Cruise in this final installment are returning cast members Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Shea Wigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, and Pom Klementieff. New additions include Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, Lucy Tulugarjuk, Katy O'Brian, Tramell Tillman, and Stephen Oyoung.
"Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" hits theaters on May 23, promising to deliver the ultimate action-packed sendoff to Tom Cruise's iconic character, Ethan Hunt.
