Tiger Woods is mourning the loss of his beloved mother in a heartfelt tribute where he shared reflects on her undeniable spirit and the unyielding support she provided throughout his life.

AceShowbiz - Tiger Woods announced the passing of his mother, Kultida. "It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning," the pro golfer, 49, shared via Instagram on Tuesday, February 4.

"My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible."

In his tribute, Woods emphasized the special bond Kultida shared with her grandkids, "She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie. Thank you all for your support, prayers and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. Love you, Mom."

Woods did not reveal the cause of death for his mother, who was married to the athlete's father, Earl Woods, for 37 years until he died of cancer in 2006 at the age of 74.

Tiger Woods, who shares daughter Sam, 17, and son Charlie, 15, with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, once shared how integral his parents' support was to his career. In a 2017 interview, he said, "My dad was always the person who would plant seeds and give me encouragement but also would say things that would fester inside me that wouldn't come to fruition for a while. He was very worldly and deep in his thinking. My mom was the enforcer."

"My dad may have been in the Special Forces, but I was never afraid of him. My mom's still here and I'm still deathly afraid of her. She's a very tough, tough old lady, very demanding. She was the hand, she was the one, I love her so much, but she was tough," he explained. "There was zero negotiation."

The outpouring of condolences and supports also came from notable figures such as Tom Brady and Erin Andrews, fellow professional golfers like Moo Win Lee, and athletes from other sports like former MLB star Dexter Fowler and former NHL star Chris Pronger.

Kultida's passing marks the end of an era for the Woods family, but her legacy lives on through her son's achievements and the values she instilled in him.
