'Wicked' actress Ariana Grande pens an emotional response after nabbing her first-ever Academy Awards nomination for her captivating performance in the Jon M. Chu-directed Broadway adaptation.

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande, 31, took to Instagram to share her emotional response and gratitude after she's nominated for an Oscar. It marked her first-ever Academy Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actress, thanks to her role as Glinda the Good Witch in "Wicked."

The film itself garnered ten nominations, making it one of the most recognized movies at this year's Academy Awards. Grande's co-star Cynthia Erivo is also among nominees, vying for the coveted title of Best Actress.

"Picking my head up in between sobs to say thank you so much to @theacademy for this unfathomable recognition. i cannot stop crying, to no one's surprise," Grande expressed her overwhelming emotions on Instagram.

She accompanied her words with a series of heartfelt images, including a childhood photo of herself dressed as Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" and an undated video where she sings "Defying Gravity" from "Wicked."

Reflecting on her journey, Grande wrote, "I'm humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny ari who sat and studied Judy Garland singing 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' just before the big, beautiful bubble entered. i'm so proud of you, tiny."

She also gave a special mention to her director Jon M. Chu, calling him "the most unbelievably brilliant leader, human being, and most fierce friend," and praised her co-star Cynthia Erivo, "Your brilliance is never ending and you deserve every flower (tulip) in every garden. i love you unconditionally, always."

This nomination is a significant milestone not only for Grande but also for the entire "Wicked" team. The film is now tied for the second-most nominations, alongside "The Brutalist." In her post, Grande added, "i am so deeply proud of my beautiful Wicked family."

The recognition also adds to her growing list of accolades as she is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category at both the Critics Choice Awards and the SAG Awards, also to be held in February. The Oscars 2025 ceremony, hosted by Conan O'Brien, will air live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, March 2 at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and Hulu.
