AceShowbiz - Less than a year after their public separation, Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley have finalized their divorce. Court records in Cook County, Illinois confirmed that the settlement, labeled as a Stipulation to Hear Uncontested Cause, was filed recently.

Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, and Corley announced their decision to terminate their marriage in April 2024. The couple, who had been married for over five years, shared a heartfelt joint statement on their Instagram Stories, expressing their gratitude for the time spent together and their commitment to raising their daughters together.

"After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways," the couple said in their joint statement. "We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you."

The former couple's daughters, nine-year-old Kensli and five-year-old Marli, remain their priority. Chance and Corley met as children and began dating in 2013. Though they had a brief split in 2016, they soon reconciled and married in a civil ceremony in Chicago in December 2018. Later, they celebrated their union with a star-studded event in Newport Beach, California, in March 2019.

Despite their breakup being amicable, some believe that Chance's behavior at Jamaica's Carnival in April 2023 might have contributed to the split. The rapper was filmed enjoying a dance with a woman, which led to public speculation about infidelity. Corley later posted a passage from Maya Angelou about individuals who "don't grow up," which many speculated was aimed at Chance.

The settlement is pending official confirmation by a judge, but as long as there are no legal hitches, Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley are set to finalize their divorce swiftly.
