AceShowbiz - Megan Thee Stallion was granted a five-year restraining order against Tory Lanez by a Los Angeles judge on Thursday, January 9. The order prohibits Lanez from contacting or approaching her for any reason for the next five years, until January 9, 2030, three years before Lanez is scheduled to complete his prison sentence.
In a video call testimony during the court hearing, Megan expressed fear for her life, stating, "I feel like maybe he'll shoot me again, and maybe this time I won't make it." She also accused Lanez of attempting to damage her reputation by spreading rumors through bloggers.
Megan's complaint describes Lanez as a "violent and dangerous criminal." She initially filed the restraining order in December, alleging that even from prison, Lanez continued to subject her to "repeated trauma and revictimization."
In December 2022, Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan in the foot in July 2020. Despite his conviction, his lawyers maintain his innocence and have expressed plans to appeal. Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence with an eligibility for parole in September 2029.
Megan was previously granted a restraining order against Lanez in 2020, but it expired in 2023. The two had an intimate relationship prior to the shooting, which Megan initially denied but later admitted to in her October 2024 Amazon documentary.
