AceShowbiz - Former model and actress Dayle Haddon has passed away at the age of 76. The Hallmark star was found dead at a Pennsylvania home on Friday, December 27 of an apparent carbon monoxide poisoning, authorities have confirmed.
Solebury Township police say authorities were investigating a property on the 6900 block of Phillips Mill Road after a resident called 911 at around 6:30 A.M. to report a 76-year-old man had passed out on the first floor of a detached office or in-law suit of the property.
When The Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad arrived, they removed the man from the building. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey and his condition was not immediately available.
A second victim, who has been identified as Dayle, was later found dead in a second-floor bedroom in the in-law suit. While investigating the scene, the New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company detected high levels of carbon monoxide in the building. Police said fumes from a boiler may be to blame.
"Preliminary investigation is showing that a heating unit malfunctioned exposing a large amount of carbon monoxide within the carriage house," said Detective Sgt. Jonathan Koretzky. Two medics were taken to Doylestown Hospital for treatment after the exposure and a Solebury Township police officer was treated at the scene. All three are said to be stable, according to officials.
Records show the home is owned by Dayle's daughter Ryan Haddon and Ryan's husband, actor Marc Blucas. Ryan and Marc purchased the home in 2012 for just over $1 million. The former Wake Forest University basketball player has said in multiple interviews that he is restoring the home, which was built in 1711.
Officials did not immediately reveal the identity of the second victim or say if Marc or Ryan was in the home at the time. The couple has not issued a statement on the tragedy that killed the Canadian model/actress.
Dayle rose to fame in the 1970s and '80s as a supermodel, known for promoting anti-aging products manufactured by L'Oreal. The author of "Ageless Beauty: A Woman's Guide to Lifelong Beauty and Well-Being" later became an ambassador for the humanitarian aid organization, UNICEF. She was also the founder of a non-profit called WomenOne. The organization's motto is "changing the world one woman at a time."
