AceShowbiz - Chanel Maya Banks, known for her role in "Gossip Girl," has filed a restraining order against her mother, Lutchmin Judy Kumar, and cousin, Danielle Singh, accusing them of harassment and efforts to discredit her.
According to TMZ, Banks claims that Kumar and Singh have repeatedly contacted her despite her requests for distance. She alleges that they reported her missing to the Los Angeles Police Department even though her husband, Carlos Jiménez, informed them that she was well.
Banks also claims that Kumar and Singh broke into her apartment on November 10, assaulted Jiménez, stole his work badge, and placed an Apple AirTag on her car to track her movements. She has filed police reports regarding these alleged incidents.
Additionally, Banks states that Kumar and Singh have accused Jiménez of murder and insisted that she be placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold. She is seeking protection from physical and electronic contact, as well as a ban on public statements about her.
Sources close to the family deny all of Banks' allegations, particularly the claim of assault against Jiménez. They also express a lack of desire to reestablish contact with her after her public accusations.
Banks' initial disappearance last month sparked concern after her mother and cousin launched a GoFundMe campaign and spoke to news outlets. However, Banks later declared herself not missing, claiming to have run away for baptism.
The restraining order request was filed in a Los Angeles court on Thursday, December 26. It remains to be seen how the legal proceedings will affect the ongoing family drama.
