The Princess of Wales hosts her fourth annual Christmas carol service at London's Westminster Abbey, spreading love and empathy amidst her challenging year.

AceShowbiz - Kate Middleton's highly anticipated Christmas carol concert returned on Christmas Eve, led by the Princess of Wales herself. Pre-recorded at London's Westminster Abbey on December 6, the event marked Kate's first public Christmas carol service since her cancer diagnosis in March 2024.

In a poignant opening message, Kate emphasized the importance of "slowing down and reflecting on the deeper things that connect us all." She encouraged focusing on love, kindness, and forgiveness, emphasizing that "Christmas is a time for presents, tinsel, and mince pies, but it's also a time to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all."

The theme of this year's concert centered around love and empathy, highlighting the power of showing kindness to others. Kate, who personally underwent cancer treatment this year, said, "The Christmas story encourages us to consider the experiences and feelings of others. It also reflects our own vulnerabilities and reminds us of the importance of giving and receiving empathy, as well as just how much we need each other in spite of our differences."

The service featured performances by young musicians, including a 25-piece steel pan band and a jazz ensemble from Restore the Music. William, Prince of Wales, and the royal children also gave heartfelt readings.

Despite her health struggles, Kate remained strong throughout the concert. However, emotion could be seen on her face as she sang the final carol, "Hark The Herald Angels Sing." The princess appeared visibly moved as she held her candle and service program.

Over 1,600 invitees attended the event, including members of the monarchy and guests who have made a difference in their communities. The concert was supported by The Royal Foundation and aimed to celebrate individuals who have inspired, counseled, and comforted others.

The Princess of Wales, accompanied by Prince William and their children, arrived at Westminster Abbey in festive attire. Kate wore a long red coat with a large black velvet bow at the collar, while William and the young royals opted for elegant suits and a burgundy coat.

"In times of joy and sadness, we are all each other's light," Kate concluded in her message. "I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas."
