Amidst rumors of a star-studded cast and epic storylines, the script for 'Spider-Man 4' is reportedly undergoing a significant overhaul, potentially delaying the production timeline.

AceShowbiz - "Spider-Man 4" is reportedly facing a major rewrite. This comes amid rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return with larger roles as Marvel is keen to repeat the magic of "Deadpool & Wolverine".

The issue, according to sources, lies with the script. While Tom Holland is happy with the current draft, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, is not too keen. They are now "changing everything. The script isn't ready yet and won't be for a while."

The movie is still scheduled for release on July 24, 2026, but filming may commence later than anticipated given the need for rewrites and Holland's commitments to other projects. The actor is attached to Christopher Nolan's next film "The Odyssey" along with girlfriend and Spidey co-star Zendaya Coleman.

Previous reports suggested tensions between Feige and Sony's Tom Rothman over the scope of the film. Feige preferred a smaller-scale adventure while Rothman sought to capitalize on the success of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" with a "multiversal event." Recently, sources claimed the studios have settled on a more grounded story with limited Multiverse elements.

In a recent interview, Holland stated that the team is committed to developing a compelling narrative, recognizing the legacy of the previous "Spider-Man" movie.
