AceShowbiz - In a bombshell lawsuit filed with the California Civil Rights Department, Blake Lively accuses her "It Ends With Us" co-star and director Justin Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, of harassment and retaliatory smear campaign.
The lawsuit alleges that Baldoni engaged in inappropriate behavior on the set of their movie including making comments that made Lively feel uncomfortable.
After Lively complained about Baldoni's behavior, she was allegedly subjected to a negative media campaign and forced to cancel several professional commitments. This included canceling an appearance as the host of the "Saturday Night Live" Season 50 premiere.
The lawsuit also reveals that Baldoni hired crisis PR veteran Melissa Nathan after he freaked out when finding out Lively's actor husband Ryan Reynolds had blocked him on Instagram. Fearing the worst, Baldoni allegedly hired a crisis team and devised plans to discredit her reputation.
Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, has dismissed Lively's allegations as "categorically false" and stated, "Interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions."
However, Baldoni has since been dropped by his agency, WME, which also represents Lively. Author Colleen Hoover, who wrote the novel "It Ends With Us," has publicly supported Lively.
The lawsuit provides detailed accounts of an all-hands meeting where Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and Baldoni discussed his behavior. The document also includes seemingly damning communication between Baldoni and Nathan.
Lively's allegations have been received with mixed reactions. Some have expressed support for her while others have questioned her motives. The lawsuit is ongoing, and further details may emerge as the case progresses.
