AceShowbiz - In a recent conversation on Julia Louis-Dreyfus' "Wiser Than Me" podcast, 84-year-old Nancy Pelosi expressed her disappointment at the prospect of never hosting "Saturday Night Live". Louis-Dreyfus, who was a cast member on the show from 1982 to 1985, suggested they put in an effort to make it happen.
Despite Pelosi's initial hesitation, Louis-Dreyfus remained optimistic, stating that she would "work on [Pelosi's] audition." Pelosi insisted that it was too late for her, as she had "crossed the bridge."
Over the years, numerous politicians have made guest appearances or hosted "Saturday Night Live", including Kamala Harris, Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin.
Pelosi's colleagues, such as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren, have also taken the stage of Studio 8H. Even Donald Trump has hosted the show twice, though his 2015 appearance remains controversial.
Although Pelosi expressed her regret, Louis-Dreyfus assured her that she would continue to advocate for her hosting opportunity. "Saturday Night Live" is currently in its 50th season and plans on celebrating the anniversary through 2025 with specials and past skits.
