AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian's clothing brand SKIMS has scored a major collaboration with North Face. While "The Kardashians" star is excited with the project, some skiers show their dismay after the reality TV star and actress starts posting on her Instagram account photos for the collaboration campaign.
Over the weekend, Kim took to Instagram to share snaps of her modeling styles from their ski wear collaboration. The line included thermal tops, ski suits, puffer jackets, a corseted bodysuit, leggings and dark goggles. "Performance winter wear tailored to your curves," the tagline read.
The "American Horror Story: Delicate" actress, who is a skier, told Women's Wear Daily, "The collection is a combination of functional and flattering apparel solutions for the season." The NORTH FACE x SKIMS limited edition collection will be available on Tuesday, December 10.
Meanwhile, some skiers were not thrilled about the collaboration. They criticized the neutral colors that NORTH FACE and SKIMS picked for their sold-out collaboration, calling it dangerous. Among the critics was TikTok content creator Dani Lola, who said, "SKIMS x NORTH FACE is dangerous," while showing off the nude puffers, leggings and ski masks in the background.
"If you actually go on the mountain, everyone knows you're supposed to wear colors - where if you fall in the snow, if there's an avalanche, people will find you," she continued. The TikToker additionally pointed out that the coats are "really short and really thin," telling her followers, "You're gonna get a cold, that's all I'm saying."
Some people agreed as one commenter wrote, "As a Norwegian, who is a professional skier, this is totally correct. You need to wear bright colors, especially if you're out skiing you can fall in a way where you just can't move." Echoing the sentiment, another added, "Having had an accident while skiing I was told by rescuers that my white ski suit delayed them finding me."
"This should apply for anything you do in nature tbh. Doesn't matter if it's skiing, swimming or hiking. Make sure you are able to be seen if something happens to you!" one other said. Someone additionally noted, "They also don't look warm at all."
