Darius Jackson, father of Keke Palmer's son, has signed a four-year contract to join the U.S. Army, according to a video that recently circulated on social media.

AceShowbiz - A livestream clip involving Darius Jackson, 30, and others surfaced on December 8, showing Jackson announcing his plans to join the military. He signed a four-year contract but expressed consideration for completing 20 years of service, citing potential benefits for his son.

"I paid attention in that finance class," Jackson said. "I was thinking, 'I see why people just go ahead and do it.'... I'm indecisive right now, tho."

Jackson's decision comes after his breakup with Keke Palmer in November 2023. They co-parent their son, born in February 2023. In October, Palmer opened up about the "unhealthy relationship" she had with Jackson, emphasizing that she wanted their son to have a balanced understanding of his parents.

"I didn't want my son to think his father is a monster-because I don't," Palmer said.

Despite their past relationship issues, both Palmer and Jackson appear focused on providing a positive future for their child. Jackson's enlistment in the Army may offer financial stability and benefits for their son in the long term.

Darius was previously trolled online after he admitted in an Instagram post that he had to contact the actress regarding their son's birthday during a hospital visit. "Took Leodis to his doctor's appointment back in September & barely knew his date of birth….," so he wrote on Instagram Stories on Thursday, December 5.

The Internet personality continued, "His mom was on speed dial & the nanny also helped answer the other questions [laughing face emoji] but we got it done! Which is all that matters."
