AceShowbiz - Pusha T appeared to have annoyed social media users with his recent interview. The "Diet Coke" rapper has been trolled by many for allegedly using Drake to stay relevant despite their feud.
On Sunday, December 8, a video of the 47-year-old hip-hop artist made its rounds on Instagram. In the short clip, it could be seen that he was talking about Drake's rap battle with Kendrick Lamar during a sit-down.
Pusha T, whose real name is Terrence LeVarr Thornton, received a question that read, "Do you agree with the people that Kendrick won the match?" In response, he said, "one thousand percent," prompting the audience to cheer.
Pusha T went on to shower Kendrick, who is also famous as K.Dot, with praise, "I think that Kendrick is a lyricist that talks to your soul. You can be clever, you can say cute things, you can do things ... and so on and so forth, right? But the truth really hurts. The truth cuts deep."
"And I think what Kendrick was doing was talking to your soul," the "Mercy" hitmaker continued. "I believe that. I believe that will cause you to tap out, that will cause you to sue, that will cause you to do a lot of things that's crazy. Suing is crazy," he added, leaving the crowd laughing.
It did not take long for the post to be flooded with online responses. In the comments section, one Instagram user wrote, "Oh look! Another rapper whose relevance came only from beefing with Drake...and is now making headlines again...because of Drake." The comment received nearly 1,5000 likes in just four hours.
Similarly, another chimed in, "We only see him when he's talking bout Drake lol." A third stated, "we wouldnt know about this interview if drake wasnt mentioned. hope this helps lol." A fourth added, "Only time I see him is when they mention Drake that's a sad way to be remembered," adding a laughing face emoji.
Pusha T was making a reference to Drake filing a lawsuit against Universal Music Group and Spotify over K.Dot's "Not Like Us". The Canadian rapper alleged that UMG engaged in a "scheme" to manipulate the success of the song by using bots, payola and other deceptive practices to boost its streaming numbers on platforms like Spotify. However, UMG denied the accusation, calling it "offensive."
