AceShowbiz - Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has addressed the persistent rumors surrounding the state of his marriage to Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. Speaking at The New York Times' 2024 DealBook Summit, Harry candidly discussed the challenges they face amidst the intense public scrutiny.
Responding to a question from DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin about the widespread fascination with every aspect of their lives, Harry emphasized that the constant speculation is "definitely not a good thing." He noted that countless articles have been published falsely claiming they have purchased or moved homes numerous times and even divorced 10 to 12 times.
Harry expressed his sympathy for the online trolls who invest heavily in rumors about his marriage. "It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it," he said. "The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are just built and built... and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."
Harry also acknowledged that his childhood in the royal spotlight, particularly the media frenzy surrounding his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, has shaped his views on the dangers of misinformation and online harassment.
Despite the challenges, Harry remains committed to the charitable work he and Meghan undertake through their Archewell Foundation, including their efforts to promote online safety for children. He also emphasized that his "main goal" is "being the best husband and dad that I can be."
Harry and Meghan, who married in 2018, have two children: Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
